Yesterday was my DREAM day (Plus The Rainbow Butterfly today!)

I have swapped my musings to Fridays because… well I want my Sundays off 🙂
But!
Then yesterday I was so busy living my perfect day I forgot!
Which included:
A breakfast feast of avocado, banana, nuts and peri peri oil (olive oil with peri peri it is heaven!), plus fresh coffee by Leah mmm!
Teaching at NSCD, lunch, and gorgeous catch ups,
A beautiful discovery call about coaching with a lovely new client,
An adventure into town, popping into Yorkshire Dance before a beautiful rehearsal (ready for tomorrows gig) at Open Source Arts, followed by yoga led by Asher (definitely one I will be recommending in my new Ella Endorses or Maya Mentions section of my weekly (Maya Gandaia) or monthly (Ella Mesma Company) sparks of JOY,
Journeying home with Asher and Leah and delicious dahl and early bed!
Yummmm! 🙂
What would your perfect day look like?
And so I prepared this one before heading in for the show… and here it is… bright and early to your inbox in case you fancy joining us!
Because this week, the spark from me is turning The Rainbow Butterfly, a show which I have created alongside artists Georgina and Jay X, and is an outdoor, or indoor performance for 3-6 year olds (and their grown-ups), into an interactive crafting and movement workshop version of the show. Today I will be facilitating that alongside awesome helpers at Yorkshire Dance as part of Encounters in Leeds from 10.30am – 12.30pm.
The session is suitable for ages 6-9 and you can bring an accompanying buddy (that could be a grown-up, a younger (or older) sibling or a friend!)
The workshop invites children and their buddies to move, create and play. It is inspired by the story of Maja, who has a big imagination and would LOVE to be a Rainbow Butterfly and fly all the way to the Moon! Working with different movement styles from contemporary, hip hop to Afro-Brazilian, children will be inspired (in all they do!) by the four stages of the butterfly’s lifecycle.
Drawing on transformation through the eyes of a child, there will be story-telling, moving, dressing up, a maypole, colourful silks and magic! The session will culminate in a short celebratory re-telling of a section of the work by the children to their accompanying grown-ups…
So…
A One
A Two
A You know what to do!
I hope to see you today: If you do make it down and you read this this morning, be sure to come and say hey!

Leyla has a TED Talk!!!

As mentioned earlier, I decided to create a weekly Maya Mention and Ella Endorses post, and I want to start this by celebrating Leyla Okhai (My school friend, recent PowerUp! Podcast guest, award winning podcaster (Diverse Minds) and all around inspiring power human!)’s Ted Talk on The Connection between between Culture, Race and Mental Health… the content is TRUTH! Huge Big Ups Leyla!

That’s all this week Family!
