Ella Mesma Company

Leading Diaspora Dance Theatre in the UK

Stepping into the world of Ọkan…

Ọkan (a world created by Maya & Toussaint) means oneness… Or one heart… Or big heart… Open hearted, closed hearted, big hearted…

Ọkan is the many facets of the heart… The journey of us relating, finding connection… Finding ways to hold ourselves whole, honour the other in their wholeness…

Ọkan explores what and who we are outside of the binaries of definition… Of good, bad, right, wrong… outside of political agendas and manipulation…

Outside of gender and gender roles
Outside of the human experience
In our god-like genius

Ọkan is oneness… A universe… A rhythm… Them who came before us and them who align us with where we are going… Our destiny!

Ọkan is on tour as of next week and we would love for you to be in the line up of the first people to see it!
