Myriam Gadri was born in Switzerland and also raised in Togo, Africa and London where she studied at the Brit School of Performing Arts and got a scholarship at London Studio Center. Her work to date includesthe UK’s“Move It” Festival2011The King and I,Annie Get Your Gun,The BRIT Awards(Tom Jones and Blue), and many corporate events. She was honored to recently tour her own work in England withRoots of Rumba Tourcurated by Ella Mesma.
Since moving to New York, Myriam has performed on the Today Show Summer Concert Series with Pitbull, Ne-Yo and Mark Anthony, NY KNICKS ‘Latin’ halftime show, Marc Jacobs – Decadence fragrance launch and made an appearance on Saturday Night Live Christmas Special with Amy Adams, “Ugly Betty” season launch party and the Windows Phone 7.5 launch. She has also appeared at the APAP City Center and has also made numerous appearances infusing Latin and African dance styles with several dance companies. Myriam made her U.S musical debut in The Wiz at Arkansas Theatre Rep and went on to be the first woman to play the role of ‘Graffiti Pete‘ in In the Heights. She performed in Miami for Don Omar in the Latin Billboard Awards two years running and toured with The Hip Hop Nutcracker where she played the ‘Mother’. Recently she was associate choreographer to Luis Salgado a 3 times broadway veteran for Telemundo UpFront and a production of AIDA: The Musical.
She is thrilled to be working with Ella Mesma again and to take part in such a beautiful project at the Manchester International Festival.
