Orixas kept things simple with twenty minutes of pure contemporary dance at its most physical and sensual. Four female dancers in four differently coloured dresses travelled across the stage with hip-rocking determination against some dramatic lighting changes. Rhythmic and gymnastic, the piece told a captivating story of female strength and solidarity. A memorable moment was when the four dancers crouched close together and smilingly traced a journey across the floor through their intertwined arms.
